U15 Girls win the League.

Another top of the table clash for our U15 girls this morning in Maulbaun. This time facing a Mallow team aiming to secure second place in the league.

Shorn of 4 players through injury and illness Passage would win the league by avoiding defeat.

Playing with the benefit of a strong breeze Passage roared put of the blocks, Lauren Murphy and Jane Finlay putting Passage in a commanding position the girls would not give up. Playing some great football they put constant pressure on the Mallow team. Losing the seasons top scorer Jane Finlay to injury required movement of positions for some players but additional goals from Siobhan Deasy ensured a comfortable lead at half time. To their great credit Mallow never let their heads drop at any point, they played some superb football needing last ditch defending to keep them from scoring.

Facing into the wind in the second half Passage continued to play some great football in difficult conditions. Defensively solid the girls exposed space throughout the second half and were rewarded with a goal for Lynne Chadwick Manning before Lauren Murphy secured her hat trick to finish off the scoring.

A great way to secure the league championship these girls are a credit to themselves and our fantastic club.

Best wishes to Jane with her recovery from the injury.
