U16 Schoolboys 23 September 2018 – Strand Utd 3 – Passage AFC 3

Passage went behind twice in this game before going 3-2 in front only to be pegged back to 3-3 in a game where we dominated going forward but failed to turn our superiority in possession into clear cut chances although we hit the woodwork a couple of times.
Having gone behind to a goal from a corner we struck back early in the second half when a great passing move resulted in Cody Fitzgerald flicking the ball back across goal for Daniel Akinsanya to to finish with great conviction.
Unfortunately We had a terrible mix up which allowed Strand to go back in front straight from the kick off.
Passage got back in the game with a controversial goal when Cody Scored following confusion from a restart in play after a stoppage for an injury.
Jerry Nduwbu who had being doing a great job alongside Charlie and Daniel in midfield went on a storming run down the left beating 2 men before turning the ball back to Ronan Allen who made no mistake with a well struck finish to give Passage the lead which unfortunately was short lived as Strand grabbed an equaliser at the death from a harshly awarded indirect free inside the area.
We showed a lot of character in the game today after going down to a heavy defeat last week and we can start to build on a lot of positives from the good football we played at times but we really should be putting these games away and so we’ll have a few things to work on in training.

Well done Lads

Onwards and Upwards😀
